Howdy
Welcome to my page, I'm Christine Ridgway (She/They). I'm a part-time freelance illustrator with a focus on animal fantasy. I'm also a full-time Environmental Conservation student focusing on sustainability and restoration.
I love showing my love for conservation and nature in my art, especially birds. When I'm not outside, studying or making art I like to write short stories and my Skytown novels.
I also enjoy playing Dungeons and Dragons, Pokémon and Red Dead Redemption 2.
My Story
I graduated from the University of Idaho in 2016. I worked and freelanced for several years before moving back to the PNW to begin a teaching career. When that didn't work out I settled into factory work until I was laid off in 2024. I struggled to find work, keeping afloat with freelance work and a paint and sip business I started. I got information from a local work source group about a grant that helps you go back to school for in demand careers. I took a placement test, scored highly in the conservation sciences, and now I am nearly halfway through my bachelors as an Environmental Conservation student. I'm excited to work in a fulfilling field and I know by the time I graduate there will be plenty of work to do/undo.
In the mean time, I am happy to continue doing commissions and making art to support my schooling. I'm endlessly grateful for the support my art has gotten over the years, and I am happy for chances to merge my love of conservation, wildlife, adventure and art in my hobbies and career.
